Literature Circles — Role Sheets

As you know, our readers meet with their Literature Circle groups once a week. During each meeting the students share out and discuss the role sheets they completed for the reading assigned that week.

What are role sheets you ask? Role sheets allow the children to view the text through different lenses. There are six roles the students will take on through out their Literature Circles journey. These roles include: “The Summarizer,” “The Connector,” “The Author Applauder,” “The Character Commander,” “The Question Conductor,” and “The Researcher.”

Check out the pictures below, which illustrate examples of students’ completed role sheets.
